Mystic Maritime Consulting
Melissa Ryan is an expert maritime consultant with a deep background in education, ocean exploration, marine science, and environmental policy. After a decade analyzing and promoting environmental policy for the Connecticut Council on Environmental Quality, she served as Education Specialist for the Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Ocean Exploration, where she coordinated a national professional development program for educators in ocean science and exploration. Later, in her work with the nonprofit Ocean Technology Foundation, she developed international ocean science education programs, writing curricula and teaching University-level courses while leading a multinational search for a historic shipwreck.
Her current work encompasses clients in government, academia, nonprofits and the private sector, whom she helps to achieve their scientific and sustainability goals.
